EMPLOYER PASS PROGRAM

 

Benefits

San Joaquin Regional District (RTD) offers employers a low cost opportunity for their employees to commute to work on RTD buses. Employer is paying approximately 1⁄2 what the fare would be if 100% of its employees used RTD.

How it works

  • All employees of participating employers ride RTD routes that originate and end within San Joaquin County free of charge by presenting a RTD employer pass ticket and a valid employee identification.
  • RTD and employer enter into an agreement for a one year period.
  • Payment—Employer agrees to pay an annual fee equal to the number of its employees multiplied by $33 (1⁄2 adult 31-day fare, rounded up to nearest dollar) multiplied by 12 months. Employers may opt to pay one month at a time.

Employer is paying approximately 1⁄2 what the fare would be if 100% of its employees used RTD. Employer can opt to charge its employees, who may benefit by paying for transit as a pre-tax employer benefit. All tax scenarios are different. RTD does not offer this information as tax advice.
